                                    The Writing Process
In English 111 there is an effective process I learned called the writing process. Dr. Brandon showed this to the class so we could become better writers. This process includes 6 easy steps. It really had a good effect on the way I write and the timeliness of my process. This writing process will also help me in the future with my career choice as a sports journalist. If I continue utilizing the writing process, writing essays will be an effortless task.
The very first step within the writing process is prewriting. This part of the writing process is where I will discover everything I could possibly say. I research my entire genre, which means look at every possible idea on my paper. I also research my audience, meaning I make sure I analyze who I am writing this paper for or who will be viewing it. An important strategy used is the mind mapping strategy. I put one idea in the mind map, and then from there many more ideas will come from that main idea. This helps me with thinking about every possible idea for the paper. This beginning step is a very important step in preparing a top notch paper.
Next, is the drafting part of the process. This is the portion where my ideas will be manipulated as I continue with the writing process. Usually while drafting I will most likely find a fair amount of mistakes. I just write down my ideas that I feel should be on my paper. This will be so they could be manipulated later on down the line. This is also an important part of the process because it will help make sure my ideas will be thought about.
Thirdly, there is the revision part of the process. This process really makes a difference in the structure of the paper. This is where you will be adding, cutting and reorganizing your sentences. Most likely it will change for the better. In this part of the process my focus is on producing a near final draft. This is the halfway mark into completing the process.
Afterwards, the following step is proofreading and editing. This is actually where I would do the most formatting, spell corrections, and also grammar. I also ensure that it is a proper presentation. This is the point where I want this paper to become almost perfect. Once I reach this step I am almost pretty much complete.
Lastly, is the combined step of delivering and reviewing the paper. This step is just reading over the entire paper, and making sure you correctly publish it. I believe this is definitely the most vital step in the process. If you do not deliver then you will receive no credit. After I am done with this last part I have completed the process. If all these steps are finished, and thurally reviewed, I will have no problems while doing an essay using the writing process.
